Promises

Every promise
Every time you told me
“This time it’s different”
Or          
“I’ve really changed”
It was all a lie
I just wish I could’ve realized it
When our friendship
Hadn’t fallen apart yet
But realizing that now
That’s probably why
Our friendship finally fell apart.
